I'm Back

Here I am. Giuslock here.

It’s been months since I last wrote something on this blog.

After getting my CPTS, I just stopped.

For a while, I fell into the AI-doomer rabbit hole. I started listening to people constantly talking about existential risks, the destruction of humanity, massive autonomous botnets, and every possible catastrophic scenario involving AI.

And, whether I liked it or not, it made me question what I was doing with my life and whether spending so much time learning cybersecurity still made sense.

After these months away, I’ve come to a much simpler conclusion:

I don't want to give these people that much power over what I enjoy doing.

The same conversations are still happening today. People keep talking about AI destroying humanity, creating enormous botnets, automatically compromising everything connected to the Internet, and so on — often while showing surprisingly little understanding of how cybersecurity actually works.

Personally, I’d be much more concerned about how AI is already being used by armed and terrorist groups in the real world than about Claude refusing to inspect a piece of malware during a legitimate malware analysis.

Just saying.

Anyway, I'm back.

And I'm coming back stronger than before.

My next target is the OSCP.

From now on, I want to start publishing again: things I discover, techniques I learn, labs I break, mistakes I make, and whatever else I find interesting while continuing down this path.

I spent enough time questioning whether I should keep going.

I will.

And if there's one thing I want to leave here for anyone going through the same kind of period:

Don't quit.
Keep learning.
Keep building.
Keep breaking things.
Keep going.
